Unless 'Houseboat Babies' was inspired by John Ashberry's 'Houseboat Days,' one of the poet's finer (if more difficult) books. In which case, I may have missed some hidden depths of meaning. Perhaps a comment on the sense of being adrift that accompanies the fulfillment of one's material desires.
